A 3 minute student film, based on an image from Bev Sellars’ autobiography titled, They Called Me Number One. In this film adaptation, an older Bev sits in a pleasant field, flipping through her childhood picture album and reminiscing about her school and home life as a child. The importance of Bev’s childhood home life and the care of her brothers and grandparents for her is highlighted as a central theme throughout the film. In a brief scene, Bev’s warm family life is juxtaposed with her school life at a Residential School. Older Bev is a Survivor of Residential School.

This is a non-union, non-paid role.
Meals will be provided for the duration of the filming process.
Rides will be provided to and from filming locations.

Bev (Lead) Age range: 18-60 years old
Indigenous to Canada or The United States. Will be wearing casual clothing (preferably jeans and a t-shirt/sweater and winter or spring jacket depending on the shoot day weather). Will walk through a nature setting and then sit in a field with a photo album flipping through its pages. With the exception of one photo showing a young Bev at Residential school, the photos in the album show a young Bev spending time at home with her two older brothers. The photos remind Bev of her happy memories as a child and time spent in her family’s presence. She feels warm and loved. There are no speaking lines for this role.
