Hello Everyone! We are looking for 3 actors for a theatrical, circus inspired show that takes place in a magical fairyland setting. The show is part theater, part variety show and features dance performances, poetry, magic, and of course, giant robots. Please note: No circus skills are necessary for these roles, and actors are not expected to operate the robots.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
HOPE (Lead Role. 20s, any gender) A bold, charming, and somewhat arrogant fairy, they are used to getting their way and have big plans to help the world.
BARLEY (Support Role. Under-30, any gender) A friendly spirit of the barley plant, they are content and somewhat fearful of change. The part of Barley requires a skill that can be performed during the show. This can be any performance-based skill that is visually or auditorily interesting and PG rated. Please provide a 1-5 minute demo of your skill (looking for around 2 minutes on average).
LORE (40s-50s, any gender) An elder fairy, Lore’s desire is to tell stories and protect the fairy realm.
If you have an acting Demo, or example of your Special Skill (for Barley) please submit those as we’d love to see you! Demos can be uploaded to WeTransfer, Dropbox or Google Drive, and if you have them posted on social media please provide us the links.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 11:59pm Friday, February 24th
IN PERSON AUDITION: Saturday, March 4th From 11am – 3pm. Location: the eatART Foundation – 577 Great Northern Way, Vancouver. *If you are unavailable for this audition date please inquire and we’ll try to accommodate but we can’t guarantee.*
SHOW DATES: April 21 – 22. Evening performances
SHOW VENUE: The Vancouver Playhouse
Honorarium is $300 and video footage of the show will be provided upon request.
