Alien Invasion! Alex Lawther & Samuel Blenkin Lead Cast of FX Series Amid SAG-AFTRA Strike

FX’s highly anticipated sci-fi series Alien has officially begun production in Thailand, but without its stars who are SAG-AFTRA members due to the ongoing strike.

The series, which is set to air on FX, is being produced by 20th Century Fox Television and is based on the classic 1979 film of the same name.

Deadline can exclusively reveal that Alex Lawther, known for his starring role in Netflix’s young adult drama The End of the F***ing World, is among the quartet of actors cast in the series. He will be joined by Samuel Blenkin, who recently starred in the BBC’s The Capture, as well as two other actors whose identities have yet to be revealed.

Sydney Chandler is the only officially confirmed cast member, playing the female lead.

The series is being written and executive produced by Noah Hawley, who is also the showrunner. It is being directed by Emmy-winning director and executive producer Ridley Scott, who directed the original Alien film.

The series is set to explore the origins of the iconic Alien creature, and will follow a group of humans as they attempt to survive a hostile alien world.

The series is expected to be released sometime
