Neapolitan Films is seeking non-union actors for a low budget short film shooting in the Toronto/GTA area. The film is set in 1957 and follows Archie, a man who takes a midnight drive to ponder his place in the world and finds himself caught in the middle of a life and death battle between two agents of the early stages of the cold war.
Roles:
– Archie, 25-45, male: After the war Archie finds it hard to be confident with his purpose in the world. He often takes midnight drives to calm his introspective mind. He is brooding but kind. The silent but deadly type. War suited his leadership capabilities. Restrained in temperment, the only time he gets judgemental or critical is with conversations with himself.
– Tony, 25-45, male: Tony has found his place in the underbelly of a continually deteriorating society. The country has lost its sense of idealism, finally catching up to him. Tony has trouble taking life and death seriously. He jokes when he shouldnt, and says nothing when he should. The violence was his favorite part of the war, he wouldnt call himself psychotic, juts a nihilist at heart.
– Russian, 25-45, male (preferred Russian accent): Injured, and caught behind enemy lines, this man has staked his life on completing his mission. For him success protects his country and his family. At this point in his story he is operating on survival instincts alone, he reads like a rabid dog backed into a corner. Failure is not an option.
