FX’s highly anticipated sci-fi series Alien has added Shadow and Bone star Kit Young to its cast. Sources close to the production have confirmed that Young will be joining the show for its first season.
The news comes as production on the series has been suspended due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. The cast and crew were sent home on Friday, and the break was planned as the show’s production schedule was adjusted.
Alien is based on the classic 1979 Ridley Scott film of the same name. The series follows a group of humans who are stranded on a distant planet and must fight for survival against a hostile alien species.
The series stars Logan Marshall-Green, Michaela Coel, and Yvonne Strahovski. It is executive produced by Ridley Scott, David Zucker, and David W. Zucker.
Young is best known for his role as Jesper Fahey in the Netflix series Shadow and Bone. He has also appeared in the films The King’s Man and The Personal History of David Copperfield.
It is unclear when production on Alien will resume, but sources say that the cast and crew are expected to return to Thailand soon.
