VH1’s ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ has announced that Erica Mena will not be appearing in the upcoming season of the show after she used a slur against her co-star Spice during a heated argument.
The incident occurred during a taping of the show and was caught on camera. After the incident, the show’s official account released a statement on Instagram saying, “The ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchise has never shied away from hard conversations in our community, but we will not tolerate any form of hate speech. We have made the decision to remove Erica Mena from the show.”
The statement continued, “We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all of our cast and crew. We take this matter very seriously and are taking the necessary steps to ensure that this type of behavior does not happen again.”
Mena has since apologized for her words, saying, “I want to apologize for my actions and the words I used. I know that they were wrong and I take full responsibility for my behavior. I am deeply sorry for the hurt and pain I have caused.”
The incident has sparked a larger
