EXCLUSIVE: Emmy winner and Golden Globe nominee Amy Schumer has been set to produce and star in Kinda Pregnant, a new comedy for Netflix and Happy Madison.
The film, written by Julie Paiva, follows Lainy (Schumer), a woman who is jealous of her best friend’s pregnancy and begins wearing a fake baby bump to get attention. When her plan backfires, she finds herself in a hilarious and unexpected situation.
Schumer will also produce the film alongside Happy Madison’s Adam Sandler and Allen Covert.
Schumer is no stranger to comedy, having starred in films such as Trainwreck, I Feel Pretty, and Snatched. She has also been nominated for multiple awards, including an Emmy for her Comedy Central show Inside Amy Schumer.
Kinda Pregnant is the latest collaboration between Schumer and Netflix, following her stand-up special Amy Schumer Growing, which was released in 2019.
The film is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin shooting later this year. No release date has been announced yet.
