A Pirat’s life interactive children’s theatre is casting young, inspired actors to create a new show for the 2018 season

Pirate Life, established 2014 is a site specific and interactive children’s theatre. Our stage is a 50 foot pirate ship
the “Island Rogue” complete with functioning water cannons and licensed by Transport Canada.
The adventure begins on shore when the pirate cast invites our audience to join the crew with costumes and face
paint tattoos. We play a few games and get the crew into the spirit then board the vessel and sail around
Toronto’s Inner Harbour in search of sunken treasure. The performance includes 30 minutes of on shore activities
and 1 hour aboard the boat.
Our collective is seeking young, inspired actors to create a new show for the 2018 season. Our rotating cast
performs 2-3 1hr shows per day.
ACTING ROLES (non union): Captain, First mate, Villain
The cast is encouraged to create their own characters for the performance and portray each of the roles stated
above. Cast should be comfortable with immersive productions, improvisation and working with children aged 3-
11 years as well as their parents.
The cast meets the audience and invites them into our world, while in character from start to finish, providing
the costumes and face paint tattoos to our new recruits.
EXTRA ACTING RESPONSIBILITIES: As a member of the collective we also send our crew to meet our audience in
public spheres. Actors, in costume will attend festivals and events (such as school fun fairs, fundraisers and
others) and in a buskeresque way meet the public. Engaging with them in character and sharing with the children
treasure and the parents the information on how to join our crew
