We are students in IAT 202 from Simon Fraser University looking for a female actress and a male actor for our final project this semester. Below is a synopsis of our short film.
Synopsis
Travis is a young man who works a minimum wage part-time job while living a miserable life by himself. His lousy and rude attitude doesn’t serve him well in society either. One day while walking home, Travis spots Lucy, his long-time crush, walking along with her boyfriend. Travis walks away in disappointment, and along the way he comes across an antique journal on the ground. Since he needs a new journal he picks this book and walks away to his house. Returning to his dingy house, he starts writing about his depressing day in his new journal and mentions his encounter with Lucy and desperately wishes for her to be in his life. He hears a knock on the door and when he opens it, he sees Lucy standing in front him. He comes to realize that the book holds magical potential and begins to abuse its power. Two years later, Lucy and Travis are still living in a happy relationship. Lucy comes over to Travis’s house and is left by herself in a room while Travis is changing clothes, so they can head out. Alone by herself, Lucy comes across the journal and she uncovers the dark truth about Travis and his manipulation in her life.
