Deadly Antics is a comedic post-apocalyptic short film with a twist. It’s a snapshot into the lives of four scavengers who leave their tribe on a voyage to salvage a mysterious wreckage—and to find the missing history of their tribe. Anything beyond the past 100 years remains a mystery and no one has survived beyond the confines of their wilderness home. Until now.
We are currently in the final stages of casting. All of our principals have been cast. Some roles feature COMBAT WORK. More details on this in descriptions. Applications for crew members (on set, editors and music director) are also open.
The Girl (44J9-01) – secondary role
Female, age 14-18, any ethnicity
Small and waifish
This role requires NO COMBAT. She is part of a biological experiment to create the perfect human being to survive the apocalypse. If you are not age of majority, we will need to be in contact with your parents.
Raiders and Soldiers - extras
Any gender, 18-30, any ethnicity
Raiders: members of a cannibal tribe
Soldiers: enforcers from the city that 44J9-01 has escaped
Only 2 of these 7 characters have speaking roles. Raiders have very simple fight scenes, while experience in stage/screen combat would be an asset for the soldier roles. There are 3 raiders and 4 soldiers, all of which can be double cast due to the costuming. Any fitness and combat training is more than welcome.
This is a very low budget film and is currently self-funded, so unfortunately we can offer no payment. Each of the secondary/background roles will only be needed for one of three days of shooting, while primary roles and crew will be there the full three days (Friday evening to Sunday morning with many breaks in between as needed). In the event that you are doubling background roles, WE’LL COVER ACCOMMODATIONS and whatever we film can be made available to you for reels, etc. We would also like to have a training session beforehand to learn the choreography prior to filming for safety and efficiency reasons. The date and location will be decided after casting is complete in order to accommodate as many people as possible.
