CTORA Theatre is holding auditions for The Wizard of Oz (RSC version) directed by Mark Carter, musical directed by Jeremy Hoffman, and choreographed by Ken Overbey. The show will run from Nov.3-Nov.12 2023 at Granville Island Stage Theatre.
Auditions will take place on June 25 and 26 2023 at Scotia Dance Center, with callbacks on July 9th 2023.
Rehearsals will take place from Oct.6-Oct.22 Wednesday to Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm at Crystal Ballroom Richmond. All roles are open, including Dorothy Gale, Glinda/Auntie Em, Uncle Henry/Emerald City Doorman, Tin man/ Hickory, Scarecrow/Huck, Lion/ Zeke, Wicked Witch/ Miss Gulch, Wizard/ Prof Marvel, and ensemble members playing multiple roles, some with lines and songs and covering the leads as understudies.
You will sing at this audition and participate in a preliminary dance call. Dance in this show is based on musical theatre, contemporary, jazz and ballet. Tin man must tap. We are committed to diverse, inclusive casting.
