Nina prides herself on being career-driven, self-motivated, fully functional, well dressed, and above all, comfortable with living “normal.” Nina is married to Mason (now Eve) Rivera. For the first time, she questions her role as a wife and the future of her marriage as her husband progresses through their transition from male to female. Nina struggles to find acceptance for Mason/Eve as she deals with her own emotional weight and fears of isolation, being misunderstood, and change. Her main objective is to save her marriage and raise her unborn child in a “normal” household with Mason/Eve at this time.
***Nina & Mason/Eve Marriage Notes: Nina & Mason/Eve are a married couple. There are some scenes where they kiss each other.
LORENA PEREZ – PRINCIPAL – FEMALE – 50-60 YRS OLD – HISPANIC
Hispanic preferred or open ethnicity. Bilingual – English and preferred to be able to speak Spanish OR another language. Lorena is Nina’s mother. Lorena is a widowed, out-spoken, and accessorized woman filled with love. She only wants the best for Nina and is concerned for her and her marriage to Mason/Eve. However, she is a very forward older woman who doesn’t really understand gender identity and puts blame on Nina for Mason’s coming out. Nina gets her views on a “normal” life and a traditional marriage from her mother.
