CASTING NON-UNION ACTORS AND BACKGROUND – VR FILM/WORKSHOP – MONTREAL (PAID)
OpenMind 360 is presently casting 6 actors/actresses and extras for its upcoming shoot in Montreal the weekend of October 19 and October 20, 2019.
OpenMind’s Non-Profit, educational workshops use Virtual Reality (VR) to introduce young adults to the issue of mental distress. Through exposing YAs to a 360° virtual world, where they face various scenarios, a meaningful experience is created to connect viewers to the subject of psychological distress.
In this Montreal series, our Immersive Play, HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT, features 2 young adults who witness a snitching and bullying incident that cause them both to suffer psychological distress. Finding support to cope with distress is not easy. HIDDEN IN PLAIN SITE offers non-judgmental solutions through the lives of Anthony and Samantha at school.
Our set up: a look-alike New York High School with YAs in Grade 12. We’re looking for actors that are between the age of 18 and 20 (that can pass for 17/18), that have an urban vibe, and actors/actresses to play the roles of parents, school principal and teachers.
Description of roles:
– SAMANTHA (SAM): YA, age 18-19. She’s an American High School grade 12 student. She’s a cheerleader and she’s popular, a bit intimidating but initially sweet looking. She’ll become more and more tough, in both her looks and appearance. (Would help if actress can do her own hair and make-up).
– ANTHONY: a YA, age 18-19. He’s an American High School grade 12 student. He’s a geek, modest, sweet looking. He’ll snitch on Samantha for having pressured him to steal an exam and will be bullied by her afterwards.
– CYD – Samantha’s best friend. Age 18-19. She plays the part of an American High School grade 12 student. She’s on the same cheerleading team as Sam.
– LISA: Sam’s mother, age 42-52, busy, successful professional, harried looking, pretty. (Would help if actress can do her own hair and make-up).
– JAMES: Anthony’s father, 42-52, artist looking, hipster, maybe works in tech or film/TV.
– MR. or MRS. SMITH, School principal – man or woman, must display gentle authority. Any age but old enough to convey experience.

Two (2) Principal Roles: $800 (spread on 2 days)
Five (5) Actor Roles: $500
Twenty-Five (25) Background/Extras: $50
Background: 9/h with 3-hour Min. (MUST be Montreal Locals) We are currently only looking for teens and adults for background roles.
