Project Details

Project Title:  Die
Short Synopsis:  In the fantasy world of Dungeons & Dragons, Jeremy’s character dies a tragic death. Unless, that is, he can convince his Dungeon Master to let the scenario play out a different way. With pure determination and a complete lack of help from his friends, Jeremy utilizes his grief in an attempt to bargain his way back into the game. Character Bios: JEREMY MALE/MASC. 19-25 years old. Open Ethnicity. Jeremy is fairly new to Dungeons & Dragons, and not ready to cope with the devastating loss of his Half-Elf Fighter. After recovering from his disbelief, he works his way through all five stages of grief, bargaining with the Dungeon Master by offering his own version of his character’s fate. Jeremy appears to be driven by his desire to play the game, but uses it to cover the deep sense of loss he feels. DUNGEON MASTER DOUG MALE/MASC. 25-32 years old. Open Ethnicity. Doug is a master storyteller, a semi-professional dungeon master, and a works at a comic book shop by day. He takes the rules very seriously, having played since he was quite young. Doug is a thoughtful, bitter soul who has no qualms about snapping at players who question his authority in the game. IAN MALE/MASC. 19-32. Open Ethnicity. Ian is Jeremy’s close friend, and acts much more like his worst enemy. He is there to tease him at every given opportunity, and actively challenges him the entire length of the session. HANNAH FEMALE/FEMME. 19-32. Open Ethnicity. Hannah works as a nurse by day, which translates equally to her Elf-Druid character. She goes out of her way to try and heal Jeremy, but can’t help chastising him for running off from the group in the first place. SARAH FEMALE/FEMME. 19-32. Open Ethnicity. Sarah is here to play D&D, not to take anyone’s shit. Every one of her characters has been lawful neutral. She has a biting wit, and believes people deserve what they have coming to them.
