Overview:
We are a high school student crew, looking for extras, for a classroom scene.
Ella is a short film that follows the story of 15 year-old Ella, a young poet with big dreams but little confidence. The short film explores a variety of important themes that highlight the challenges today’s young adults face on a daily-basis.
As a group of aspiring filmmakers, storytellers, and artists, we ask for funding in the hopes that our wildest dreams can be brought to life on the big screen. Imagination and creativity are often under-appreciated, especially during the early years of our life, where everyone is taught to be the same and conform to society’s norms. Much like a theme present in “Ella”, we hope you will find it in your best interests to support our creativity.
Dry Ash Studios has been set to working on “Ella” vigorously and laboriously for months; it is with this last generous fund that we can fulfill our hopes and complete our first ever short-film.
Ella is a teenager unlike any other. She may seem completely and utterly normal on the outside, but on the inside she’s got a beautiful mind and a big heart.
Ella struggles in today’s modern society as a young poet who undermines herself and her abilities as an artist, when in fact she is extremely talented. Ella finds herself torn between two different worlds: the colorful, exciting world of an artist versus the not-so-rewarding life of a “popular” girl among her friends.
This short-film is very important to us considering we want it to teach kids, teenagers, ANYONE to think differently, be different, stand out, make a change in the world. No matter how, do it! Nobody wants to live in a world where everybody is the same. If you have a dream, pursue it. Don’t fear divergence. Fear conformity.
Potential of the film. Here’s an old advertisement shot by the same crew: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmXMDJV9lLA
