Canada is getting its own version of the popular cooking competition series “Iron Chef.”
“Iron Chef Canada” will premiere in fall 2019 on Food Network Canada with contestants from across the country.
Like the original series, the show will see the chefs preparing five dishes in one hour using a featured secret ingredient that will be presented by the iconic Chairman. Please see below for casting specs for this role.
TALENT COMPENSATION: $1000 per episode with the option to negotiate.
MALE – ASIAN – 30-55 years of age. (Please note in submission if talent is Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc.) The Chairman is the iconic role in the Iron Chef canon that through his charisma and theatricality, introduces the competing chefs and the episode’s secret ingredient. The Chairman is bold, theatrical, powerful and perhaps a bit sexy. He is well rounded and is just as comfortable performing martial arts as he is holding court in kitchen stadium. The Chairman is also funny, so a background in comedy is a bonus, but not necessary. Background in improv, stage combat and live theatre are a bonus. Please indicate in your notes.
