LEAD ROLE: Francesco
Must pass as 18 | Must pass as Italian-Canadian
Francesco is a soccer player who badly injured his knee during a game six months ago. Francesco’s doctor says he will recover and his family is supportive. However, Francesco struggles with depression and self-doubt, and has given up on ever returning to his former glory.
Skills: Preferably a skilled soccer player, but not required.
Union Status: Non-union. Non-actors may apply Rate: $175-$300/day. Varies per role Format: Shooting on 16mm film
SUPPORTING ROLE: Francesco’s Mom
Mid 40’s | Must pass as Italian-Canadian Ma is hopeful that her son Francesco can overcome the physical and mental struggles he’s been dealing with. She tries her best to help him but is dismayed when her efforts are fruitless.
SUPPORTING ROLES: Soccer playing teens
Must pass as 14-18 | Any ethnicity
A group of teenagers ride their bikes and skateboards to a public area to play soccer together. As they begin to display their formidable skills, they have a run-in with Francesco.
Skills: Must be strong soccer players who can do keep-ups, tricks and skills.
