South Asian Classically Trained Indian Dancer Needed for Lead Role

Lead Role:

ANITA, female:

- 17-28 years of age, or can pass for 18;

- South Asian heritage - Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Tamil, Nepalese, Indo-Canadian, Indo-American, etc.;

- Anita looks 18 but has the duality of appearing older;

- Physical appearance can vary. Not as important as being trained in any Classical Indian dance style as listed below:

** MUST BE A TRAINED DANCER IN: Bharatanatyam, Kathak, or Odissi classical Indian dance. Preferably also ballet, jazz or modern, but not required.

** MUST BE ABLE TO DANCE and be comfortable with ghungroos.

Project Details

Short Synopsis:  "SPINNING" is centered on a young dancer of South-Asian heritage. She is classically trained in the style of Bharatanatyam, Kathak, or Odissi classical dance. She lives in the West and is bound to her familial roots deeply embedded in a country not her home. Classical Indian dance. These art forms. This is the language she speaks.
