Twisted Dog Theatre is seeking 2 (two) performers for our upcoming production for young children “Pin-Pin The Eggsplorer” based on the works collected by Canadian storyteller Sally Jaeger. This show will be presented on the stage of Red Sandcastle Theatre (922 Queen St E, Toronto, ON) in the morning/afternoon, on weekdays from May 8th to 19th, 2023.
Performances: 30 performances in total, duration 25 min/each, 3 shows per day with 2 days off.
Payment: 40$ per show
Rehearsals: 20$ per hour, will begin on April 9th to 28, 4 hours per day, 4-5 days a week
Invited Dress Rehearsal: May 4th, morning
Main Skills: drama, puppetry skills, basic singing skills
About the show: A little penguin hatches from his egg and travels around the world, trying to find out what kind of bird he is. On the way, he meets various animals and birds who are trying to help him with his search. The performance is using the technique of puppets and shadow theatre.
We plan to run this show a few more times before the end of 2023. We would also like to continue to collaborate with those actors that we select for our future productions that and following year.
We encourage actors of any ethnicity and identity to audition for these roles. For this production performers must be 19+.
Self-tape Auditions: Please record a video of yourself: 1) performing any drama text 2) working with a puppet or any other item you have at home that you can animate in front of the camera 3) singing a little kids song
