Toronto/GTA – Toronto Lakeshore – Casting Call
Auditions are held APRIL 4TH + APRIL 5TH from 5.30 at Humber Lakeshore Campus.
Non-union, volunteer.
Actors needed for a student short film created by members of the Humber College’s TV Writing and Producing program. This will be a poignant yet comedic musical about 6 strangers with nothing in common but the moments they share in a bar one night.
Shooting: 4 half days, 9am-1.30pm Monday 8th April-Thursday 11th plus one quick singing recording session (TBD)
Ana (20s-30s. Any ethnicity, diverse preferred) is fresh-faced, quick-witted young PhD student working as a waitress to pay her way through school. She’s not happy in her job but is determined to remain unbeaten by the world. Confident singer.
Andre: (Male, 40-60, any ethnicity) An older, gruff Quebecer, Andre is charming and eccentric. He’s the bar owner and likes taking it easy. Minimal singing – polished voice unnecessary, just so long as you can hold a note and stay in character!
Karim: (Male, 40-60, Armenian or other) A construction worker who’s dissatisfied with his life. Again, minimal singing – polished voice unnecessary, just so long as you can hold a note and stay in character!
Nora (female, middle aged, sexy and powerful, any ethnicity) is a bank executive looking to let loose following a personal tragedy. Powerful singing voice preferred!
Alex (Female, 18-25, any ethnicity) is a butch lesbian undergrad university student. She’s funny and friendly, out for a drink with a new friend of hers, and has her eye on the attractive waitress. No singing needed.
Julian (male, 18-25, any ethnicity) is a naïve university student. He’s not the sharpest but has a sincere heart… and a good singing voice.
Phil (male or female, 20-50, any ethnicity) is cheerful, quirky and adventurous. S/he arrives on the wrong night for a BDSM meetup group and falls into conversation with the other patrons. Confident singer needed.
