• Ellie (Female /Aged 29-45/Any Ethnicity) – PRINCIPAL CHARACTER
Ellie’s character arc is an origin story of a female hero, she’s the victim, the fighter, the survivor as well as the hero. Most of the time, the female characters in horror/thriller films are only the object, they’re passive, fragile, either got killed really quick or is being rescued by someone. Ellie is the opposite. She’s a messy and complicated character that is living in the past, at least in the beginning of the film. She drinks her way through trouble, she’s vulnerable and scared, but at the meantime, she’s tough, smart and determined. Most importantly, Ellie is the crucial element to ground the film.
• Arron Winters/The Invader (Male/Aged 29 - 45/Any Ethnicity)
The duality of this character is polarized in opposite directions, he’s a police officer and the killer. He was a friend and was the person Ellie trusted the most after what happened to her husband. But at the end, when he shows his true color, he becomes a creep almost, he doesn’t give a damn about anything or anyone anymore, his history with Ellie is as thin as a A4 paper for him and doing wrongful things doesn’t affects him. He takes his awful actions very lightly, and that terrifies Ellie/audience.
• Carter (Male/Aged 29 - 55/Any Ethnicity) – SUPPORTING CHARACTER
Carter was Ellie’s dead husband; he was a police officer and was friend with Arron. The first shot of the film is Carter’s police portrait on a wall, and there’s his family photo with Ellie in two other places. Carter doesn’t physically appear in the film, but he has a voiceover line and we also need him for a picture casting.
