Robert Halley | Actor from Toronto, ON, Canada Robert was born in Toronto, Canada of Guyanese ancestry and began dancing at 14. He has trained at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, Arts Umbrella in Vancouver and The Ailey School in NYC. He has been performing professionally for 20yrs in a variety of genres and places throughout the World. Dance Company highlights include: Ailey II, Fred Benjamin Dance Company, Kaeja d’Dance, Dancers Dancing, Ka:hawi Dance Theatre, Mascall Dance, Raison d’Etre Prod. and Toy guns Dance Theatre. Theatre Highlights include: The Lion King (UK), Wicked (Japan), Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, CATS (Drayton) and Chicago (Mayfield). Robert has also done some work in Film and TV, dancing alongside Mike Myers, Sierra, and being directed by Debbie Allan. He is also a certified Yoga Teacher, Thai Massage Therapist and is passionately exploring the fusion of Voguing with Contemporary Dance in his teaching and choreography. He recently started a weekly podcast series called, ‘Questhands’ which is an interview show about the art of living. Robert is a proud multi-cultural, queer, compassionate individual who’s values celebrate cultural diversity, human equality and reverence to Mother Earth. He is excited to be back in Toronto dancing with Lua Shayenne Dance Company.
