Julian Nichols | Dancer from Toronto, ON, Canada Julian Nichols is a native of Mississauga, Ontario where he started dancing at a young age. Finding an interest for ballet and contemporary techniques Julian attended the regional arts program at Cawthra Park Secondary school for Dance. He graduated dancing several original works by Allen Kaeja, Darryl Tracy, Gino Berti, and more. While attending school he was also a company member at Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre in Toronto. With over 30 performances, Julian performed and toured across Canada performing repertory by Carol Anderson, Colin Connor, Ofilio Sinbadinho, Santee Smith, and Alexander Whitley to name a few. In 2017, Julian graduated Cum Laude with a B.F.A from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, SUNY where he was fortunate enough to perform with Purchase Dance Company in works by Azsure Barton, Rosalind Newman, and Tom Weinberger. In addition, Julian studied abroad for one semester in his junior year at the Taipei National University of the Arts in Taipei, Taiwan working with international artists. These included Henrietta Horn, Xiao-Xiong, Lucas Viallefond, and many more. In his senior year, Julian performed a repertory solo PacoPepPluto by Alejandro Cerrudo, which selectively got chosen for the Spring Concert at Purchase. He has also furthered his training by attending summer programs that include Springboard Danse Montreal, The School at Jacob’s Pillow, Momentum Montreal, and the Movement Invention Project. Julian has danced for Hanna Kiel based in Toronto, was a guest artist with the Limón Dance Company, and was a company dancer for Nimbus dance works.
