Kelsey Walker | Actor from Weston, FL, USA All of my life I have been an active young lady. Starting from the age of 4 to 14, I was a nationally ranked USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic optional gymnast. Stopping at 14 because of injuries, I decided to dedicate my extra time to serving the community. Throughout high school, here are some of the skills and hobbies that I have been/still am a part of: • Dual Enrollment Student at Broward Community College, in pursuit of AA degree in Biology • Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society o I tutor kids in middle and high school to help improve their math skills in any type of math they need help with. (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Calculus, etc.) • Marine Science Society o I advocate about the importance of marine life in our ecosystem, and complete monthly beach cleanups at Hollywood beach. • English Honor Society o In English Honor Society, I tutor kids in elementary, middle, and high school in language arts and English, and we participate in many community service events. • National Honor Society candidate o I’ve submitted my NHS application this year, awaiting induction for senior year. • Former Shekinah praise and worship dancer, Hospitality ministry greeter, and youth leader at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Miami Gardens • Academy of Arts dancer • Member of the Debate Team at Fort Lauderdale High School in conjunction with Broward Virtual School • Miss Broward County Teen USA of 2018 o As Miss Broward County Teen USA of 2018, I’ve gained a lot of experience with service. I’ve spread my platform Living Your Best Life (Which talks about the importance of exercise and healthy eating to prevent heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure) not only throughout the county, but across the entire state of Florida. I’ve met with politicians, mayors, and elected officials to talk about my purpose as Miss Broward County Teen USA, and I’ve been sponsored by Six02 (Women’s Foot Locker) and modeled for their brand with my title.
