A casting call has been made for the participation of neurodivergent children, particularly those on the autism spectrum, for roles in the Spark for Autism PSA. The characters, one Asian-American or Pacific Islander (AAPI) male and one Latina female, both in the age range of 6-14 years, require no professional acting or dance expertise. Interested candidates can apply via email with a picture and a brief profile of the child by February 15, 2023. Selected participants will be compensated with $1,100 per day for their role, shot in New York City on March 2, 2023. The PSA will be used on web/digital platforms for one year.

CASTING DETAILS:
– Grace’s Son: Character is AAPI, male presenting and appears to be 6-14 years old. He is an autistic boy who is smell and noise sensitive. He has a unique view of the world, is super focused, and has a great attention to detail. He can however, get overwhelmed on a sensory level. His role will be to toss his favorite food into a shopping cart with his mom.
– Luisa’s Daughter: Character is Latina or Hispanic, female presenting, and appears to be 6-14 years old. She is an autistic girl who loves to dance. She is cooler than her parents and can sometimes be embarrassed by them. She loves jokes and laughing. Her role will be to dance with her mom in a grocery store. No real dance experience required.
