A casting call has been announced for episode 1 of the non-union short film anthology series, 'The Underground'. The shooting begins on January 11 with roles available including Amira, Jay's girlfriend, Karim, an aspiring musician and son of a convenience store owner, and Ali, Karim's father. All roles are paid at a rate of $100 per day. The casting will take place in Toronto, and interested actors should email a headshot and/or resume to by midnight on January 7, 2023.

– KARIM – (Middle Eastern or Indian, ages 18-25): The son of a convenience store owner, Karim is an aspiring musician with a lot of passion, but is unable to realize his dreams due to his strict immigrant family
– ALI – (Middle Eastern or Indian, ages 45+): Karim’s father, the stern owner of the convenience store the family owns
