Jigsaw Casting is seeking Trans Men/Women and 2SLGTBQIA+ Individuals across Canada and New York for an Egale Canada Public Service Announcement.
Egale Canada is an advocacy organization founded in 1986 by Les McAfee to advance equality for Canadian lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their families, across Canada. Their mission is to create a Canada, and ultimately a world, without homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and all other forms of oppression so that every person can achieve their full potential, free from hatred and bias.
About our Spot:
In this two minute film we follow the life of a trans person from childhood to senior. A diagnosis of early dementia shows how 2SLGTBQIA+ community are affected by cis-hetero healthcare.
We are looking for the following roles:
• Hero Trans Senior Individual – AFAB or AMAB. Age 50 – 80. Any Ethnicity. Note, we may age them up with hair & makeup for some scenes. 2 days shoot.
• Hero Trans Middle aged Individual – AFAB or AMAB. Age 30 – 50. Any Ethnicity. Note, we may age them up with hair & makeup for some scenes. 2 days shoot.
• Hero Young 2SLGTBQIA+ individual.. Age 18 to 30. Someone who can represent the spectrum of age, from late adolescence to early adulthood. Ideally someone who is a non binary, trans or LG person, they must be willing to portray a few different expressions of gender I.e. pre, mid, and post transition. 2 days shoot.
Hero role Honorarium:
• $1,000.00 per shoot day, per person, If selected.
• This is a union campaign. Non union members are welcome to apply.
Deadline to submit:
• ASAP or before November 20, 2023 at 9am EST.
Filming Dates:
• Recall Nov 22, 2023 In Studio or via zoom call.
• Wardrobe: Nov 29 or 30, 2023 – TBD which day.
• Travel date/return for those outside of the Toronto area: Would be the day before and after their shoot day.
• Shoot Date: Dec 1 and Dec 2, 2023. (Shoots in Toronto)
