A short comedic film written and directed by Sara Jade Alfaro Dehghani is seeking actors for the following roles:

NORA:
Female | 10-12 | Ethnicity: Persian/Iranian, Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian
Nora is mischievous, but her ‘honest eyes’ always betray her. She is an obsessive, imaginative kid who is easily distracted and always looking up to her cool, older cousin Rina, who she is dying to impress.

RINA:
Female | 16-19 | Ethnicity: Persian/Iranian, Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian
Rina is a hoodie-donning teenager who, no matter how much she rejects societal norms, is still pulled into the world of Persian matriarchal obligations. She has become very learned in the art of threading, cooking and co-existing amongst women, while staking out her own quiet rebellion.

FARAH:
Female | Late 40’s-Mid 50’s | Ethnicity: Persian/Iranian, Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian
Farah is the mother of Nora and the middle sister. She is the monthly host of their ceremonious hair-removal-and-tea gatherings. She is sensitive, emotional and nurturing, yet easy to erupt when provoked. Farsi speaking is an asset.

MIRIAM:
Female | Mid 40’s-Early 50’s | Ethnicity: Persian/Iranian, Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian
Miriam is the youngest and most extroverted sister, perpetually seeking attention or a laugh with her antics. She considers herself a trendsetter and has tried it all – the tattooed lipliner, regular botox injections – but she is also always seeking her older sister’s approval. Farsi speaking is an asset.

LAYLA:
Female | Mid 50’s-Early 60’s | Ethnicity: Persian/Iranian, Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian
Layla is the eldest and most stoic of the three sisters. Recently retired in the suburbs, she is happy to sit back and play on her phone. After the trials of being a refugee in the 90’s with three kids
