GoodbyeMatt Riddle Bids Farewell to WWE: Former Tag Team Champion Leaves Company

On Friday, former WWE Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle announced that he is no longer a part of the company.

The King of Bros took to X, the app formerly known as Twitter, to make the announcement. “Just wanted to inform everyone that I’m no longer with WWE,” Riddle wrote. “Thank you for the memories and opportunities. Also, thank you to all the fans for the support.”

Riddle had been with WWE since 2018, when he signed with the company after a successful run in the independent wrestling scene. He quickly rose to prominence in NXT, where he won the NXT Tag Team Championship with Pete Dunne.

Riddle was then called up to the main roster in 2020, where he continued to impress with his in-ring work and charisma. He was a part of the SmackDown roster and was in the midst of a feud with King Corbin.

It is unclear why Riddle is no longer with WWE, but there have been rumors of backstage issues between him and other wrestlers. It is also possible that WWE simply decided to go in a different direction with the character.
