EXCLUSIVE: Pop star Katy Perry is set to join the hit kids franchise Peppa Pig as a guest star, voicing a new character, Ms. Leopard. The news comes ahead of the 20th anniversary of the preschool animated series, which was created by Neville Astley and Mark Baker.
Perry is no stranger to the world of children’s entertainment, having previously voiced Smurfette in the 2011 movie The Smurfs. She is also a judge on the singing competition show American Idol.
The character of Ms. Leopard is described as a “fun and fabulous music teacher” who will be teaching the characters of Peppa Pig and her friends how to play instruments and sing.
“I am so excited to join the cast of Peppa Pig at this special time in the show’s history,” said Perry. “I have always loved the show and am honored to be a part of the 20th anniversary celebration.”
The episode featuring Perry’s character is set to air in the UK in May 2021. It will be available to watch on the official Peppa Pig YouTube channel.
