Today, General Hospital fans were surprised to learn that Nicole Paggi has been tapped to temporarily step in for Kirsten Storms as Maxie Jones. Paggi, who is best known for her role as Sydney in the ABC comedy Hope & Faith, made her debut on the ABC daytime soap on Wednesday, Dec. 27.
TVLine has learned that Paggi will be playing the role of Maxie for the next few weeks while Storms takes a break from the show. Storms has been playing the role of Maxie since 2005 and has become a fan favorite.
The news of Storms’ temporary recast comes after the actress took to social media to announce that she was taking a break from the show due to personal reasons. Storms has been open about her struggles with depression and anxiety in the past, and it is believed that this break is to help her focus on her mental health.
General Hospital fans have been supportive of Storms’ decision to take a break and have welcomed Paggi to the show. Paggi is no stranger to the soap opera world, having previously appeared on As the World Turns and All My Children.
We wish Storms all the best during her break and
