Largo.Ai Shakes Up Acting Industry: AI Casting Update Reveals Mission to Provide More Job Opportunities

Largo.ai, the Switzerland-based artificial intelligence company, has responded to the recent backlash from the acting community over its “100 Actors Program”. CEO Sami Arpa has clarified that the program was only meant to be a “very narrow beta release” for 100 actors, even though they received 5,000 applications.

The program was met with criticism from Charisma Carpenter, who accused the company of “exploiting actors” and “undermining the industry”. Arpa has since clarified that the program was never intended to replace traditional casting methods, but rather to provide more access to job opportunities for actors.

“We are not trying to replace traditional casting methods,” Arpa said. “Our mission is to provide more access to job opportunities for actors, and to make the casting process more efficient and cost-effective for production companies.”

The company has also clarified that the program is not a “pay-to-play” system, and that actors will not be charged for submitting their applications. Arpa also noted that the program is still in its early stages, and that the company is working to ensure that the program is fair and transparent.
