EXCLUSIVE: Canadian streaming service Crave has announced that Lauren Collins and Megan Follows will lead the cast of a new six-part short-form comedy, My Dead Mom.
The series follows Emmy, a woman who is questioning her life choices three years after her mother’s passing. It explores the complicated nature of grief through the lens of mothers and daughters.
Production has begun in Toronto, with LoCo Motion Pictures producing. The series is written and directed by Canadian filmmaker, Sarah Rotella.
Collins is best known for her role as Paige Michalchuk on the hit Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation. She has also appeared in the films To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and The Edge of Seventeen.
Follows is a Canadian actress who is best known for her roles in the television series Anne of Green Gables and Reign. She has also appeared in films such as The Prince and Me and The Other Half.
My Dead Mom is set to premiere on Crave in 2021. It is the latest in a string of original short-form comedies from the streaming service, which includes the recently announced series, The Other Guy.
