Gerry Turner is about to make Bachelor-verse history. ABC announced on Monday that Turner, a 71-year-old grandpa from Indiana, will be the star of the first-ever season of The Golden Bachelor, a senior-focused dating series.
Turner, whose first name is pronounced as “Gary,” was unveiled as The Golden Bachelor’s leading man on Good Morning America. He is the oldest Bachelor in the franchise’s history, and he’s ready to find love.
“I’m looking for someone who is kind, honest, and has a good sense of humor,” Turner said on GMA. “I’m looking for someone who is ready to share the rest of their life with me.”
The Golden Bachelor will follow Turner as he embarks on a journey to find love. He will be joined by a cast of 30 women, all of whom are over the age of 65. The series will feature a variety of dates, including romantic dinners, outdoor adventures, and even a trip to Turner’s hometown of Indiana.
