STORY: Partially based off the director’s own experiences, THE YARDS is a story of two teens living in Chicago’s troubled South Side, THE YARDS follows Raul and Luis as they juggle the stability of their futures with the instability of their presents. The trouble-making Raul decides to plan a robbery to help with his financial difficulties, with the studious and accomplished Luis deciding to help his friend despite warnings from faculty at his school.
LOOKING FOR ACTORS TO PORTRAY THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
LUIS: 13 to 17 years old, Latino male. The studious kid who strangely fits in with the trouble-makers like Raul
RAUL: 13 to 17 years old, Latino male. The kid who’s a trouble-maker and tends to maintain his ‘macho’ image.
SHOOTING: 2/3, 2/4, 2/9, 2/10, and 2/11. On 2/9, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.; all other days 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
