Synopsis: When their daughter returns home to attend a relative’s wake, the two separated parents find themselves in a tug-o-war over her.
CASTING COMMENTS:
• This film will be filmed in Mandarin or Cantonese.
• We can accept both union and non-union actors/actress
• This is a non-paying independent student film.
• Actors will receive a copy of the finished film for their demo reel.
• Meals and beverages will be provided on the shoot days.
• If transportation is required we can arrange for a ride for the actor during filming.

Please note that parts of the script will be in Mandarin/Cantonese thus the following roles require a speaking level of proficiency in those languages and dialects.
Tao (mother) – main
45-60 female, East Asian, medium build. She is conservative and values traditions, but also is aware of progressiveness of society even though she refuses to accept it sometimes. Can often be headstrong to the point of annoyance to others. Carries a strong personality to hide her vulnerability side.
Liang (father) – main
45-60 male, East Asian, medium build. Has a general warm and easy-going disposition. Can be a pushover at times. More progressive than traditional and can accept new social norms. Still hangs to the idea of patriarch masculinity – unable to express his true emotions and intentions.
Karen (daughter) – main
20-30 female, East Asian, medium build. Struggles with her independence while trying to keep her filial duties. Far more progressive than her parents and has carved out a life for herself elsewhere. Speaks English better than her mother tongue. Has a jaded perspective to her parents’ difficult marriage.
